The **Information Technology Operations Specialist **oversees routine and day-to-day operation of SASCU’s networks, servers, and systems infrastructures. The IT Operations Specialist ensures the department has the support needed to meet growing internal and external expectations, and strives to continuously improve processes, infrastructure, and monitoring.

**What you’ll do**:

- Manage the server landscape (virtual and physical), including OS and networking level services including VoIP.
- Manage the software landscape including SaaS platforms used at SASCU (e.g., Azure, Microsoft 365).
- Oversee server, workstation, and device vulnerability and patch management in line with SASCU’s cybersecurity practices.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery system in line with SASCU’s cybersecurity practices.
- Oversee network configuration, monitoring, and threat management systems.
- Manage user accounts and group policies in an evolving Microsoft-based environment (e.g., Active Directory), documentation of the network, and systems security procedures and network infrastructure in line with SASCU’s cybersecurity policy.
- Coordinate IT infrastructure project activities to ensure timely and successful completion.
- Maintain current hardware, software, cloud platform, and support service contracts and subscriptions, and interface with external vendors and partners as necessary.
- Oversee inventory management for all IT equipment, in conjunction with the Support & Access Technician.
- Identify opportunities to automate IT operational tasks, and brings forward recommendations to the Vice President, Digital & Technology for consideration.
- Advise the Vice President, Digital & Technology on technology budgetary needs and assists in IT budget monitoring.
- Provide backup/secondary support to the IT Help Desk function, assisting SASCU staff with queries and troubleshooting.
- Communicate updates, migrations, and outages of IT systems and services to the organization.

**What you’ll bring**:

- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical training and certifications, particularly with Microsoft technologies.
- 5 to 7 years’ network and IT operations experience in small
- to medium-sized enterprises.
- Experience with VPN, LDAP, and Active Directory.
- Experience with Windows 10/11 system installation, configuration, and analysis.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Azure administration.
- Knowledge of data protection operations and relevant privacy legislation (e.g., PIPEDA).
- Experience with Agile and Continuous Improvement practices.
- Knowledge of Exchange administration in a hybrid environment is an asset.
