If you answered yes, our Chalk River location is looking for an Environmental Analyst to support Corporate and Environmental Services in managing the effects of project activities on the environment and to ensure compliance with required federal and provincial environmental legislation. Can you see yourself supporting the Nuclear Power Demonstration (NPD) closure project in the coordination and finalization of the Environmental Assessment (EA) required under CEAA and license amendment through the CNSC? **What will you be doing**
- Assist in the coordination of finalizing the NPD Closure Project Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and EA Follow-up Monitoring Plans
- Preparing and/or reviewing dispositions to federal/provincial, public and Indigenous comments on the NPD EIS
- Revising the EIS and/or EA Follow Up Monitoring Program in response to comments received;
- Providing technical reviews of technical documents prepared by a third party
- Presenting public and technical project updates to clients, regulators, Indigenous groups and other stakeholders
- Compiling and maintaining NPD Project commitments and coordinating, tracking and reporting their completion
- Ensure operational compliance with regulatory requirements and CNSC license.
- Review of project and operational activities through contractor submittals, site inspections and evaluation of contractor compliance.
- Prepare Annual Compliance Monitoring Report documenting operational performance of the NPD facility
- Analyzing monitoring data generated by follow-up program activities to confirm environmental assessment predictions and follow-up on deviations from predictions
- Participate in field activities (for example, species at risk surveys, migratory bird assessments, and sample collection).
- Integral to all of the activities in this role will be the need to liaise with stakeholders such as the CNSC, other expert federal and provincial authorities and Indigenous groups.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.

**What we are looking for**:

- Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security”.
- Honours Bachelor in Science, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field from a university of recognized standing or membership in scientific professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization
- Significant work experience in the environmental field with demonstrated increase in responsibility is required.
- Experience conducting Environmental Assessments under Federal and/or Provincial Legislation is desirable.
- Excellent writing skills - must be able to gather, analyze and assemble a variety of technical information and to present the information in an accessible manner to non-technical audiences.
- Must deliver accurate work with attention to detail and under the pressure of stringent deadlines.
- Have a demonstrated ability to have tact and diplomacy when addressing public and regulatory consultation events and general communications with the various stakeholders.
- Strong presentation and public speaking ability.
- Ability to interact effectively with managers and staff of facilities, laboratories, and support groups, and to work as a part of a team is required.
- Be self-motivated, able to function independently and to demonstrate the capability of coordinating a multi-disciplinary team of technical consultants by exhibiting good judgement and leadership in technical and interpersonal areas.
- Ability to work under pressure, conflicting priorities and regulatory requirements.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Outlook)
- Knowledge of Federal and Ontario environmental laws and regulations is desired, especially Federal Environmental Assessment Legislation (Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and Impact Assessment Act);
- Knowledge of Nuclear Safety and Control Act and its Regulations;
- Have a general knowledge of radioactivity and radioactive waste management practices as well as a complementary area of expertise (e.g., geology, hydrogeology, biology, chemistry, etc.) to facilitate data analysis;
