Veterinary Technician

This role is involved specifically with diagnostic imaging.
Patient Preparation and Care:
- Assess and monitor the health of animals before, during, and after CT and US scans.
- Administer sedation and anesthesia under the guidance of the veterinarian.
- Monitor vital signs during the imaging procedure and immediately report any abnormalities.
CT Imaging Assistance:
- Position animals appropriately for CT scans.
- Assist in operating CT and US equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
- Follow protocols and safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure to both animals and staff.
Client Communication:
- Discuss the CT and US procedure, preparation and after-care with pet owners.
- Answer queries related to sedation, anesthesia, and the overall imaging process.
Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment:
- Regularly maintain imaging rooms and equipment.
- Continuous Learning and Development:
- Attend workshops and training sessions on imaging technologies. Keep updated with the latest advancements in veterinary imaging.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Be a registered Veterinary Technician who has graduated from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a veterinary technician, with specific expertise in sedation and anesthesia.
- Knowledge of CT imaging is a plus, though training will be provided.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and the veterinary team.
- Ability to work flexibly and manage stressful situations with a calm demeanor.

Part-time hours: 16 per week
**Salary**: $27.00-$37.00 per hour
