Job Title: Instrumentation Technician

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:

- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and actuators.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with instrumentation and control systems, using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair or replace faulty components or equipment, such as defective sensors, wiring, or control devices.
- Program and configure control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
- Conduct tests and inspections to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of instruments and control systems.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to relevant regulations and standards in all work activities.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventory.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in instrumentation and control systems.
- Participate in improvement projects, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling and closing.
- Participate in meetings.
- Utilize CMMS, specifically EAM to document workflow.
- Provide instrument support to operations.
- Willing to take training courses for trade upgrading.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company standards.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized instrumentation or electronics technician program is preferred.
- Qualified Red Seal Electrician is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as an Instrumentation Technician, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, control systems, and industrial automation.
- Proficient in using testing and diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and calibration devices.
- Familiarity with PLCs, DCS, and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
