- Gimbals Technology that employs highly coveted gyro-stabilization and vibration isolation technologies to generate shudder-free images in the most demanding mobile environments.
- Electro-Optics capability that generate long-range high definition EO/IR images in a wide array of light and visibility conditions, all packaged into masted or under-mount spherical turrets, ranging between 8” and 25” in diameter.
- Sensors payloads that include laser targeting, range-finding, illumination, tracking and designation as well as Control Systems that provide precise motion control for the optical system, maintain its exact location and orientation, and orient the antennas for efficient downlink communication.
- Communications and Software that deliver a secure, digital microwave link that allows remote operation of the camera as well as real time image processing and enhancement.

About the Role

This position is responsible for generating and polishing optical and/or mechanical components using CNC machines.

Primary Responsibilities
- Program, set-up and run CNC optical generator & polishers or CNC mill & lathe machines
- Inspect and measure components to ensure conformity to specified tolerances
- Generate and polish components
- Grind components
- Edge components
- Hand polish components

Education and Experiences:

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Completed Apprenticeship as a General Machinist/ Toolmaker, or demonstrated work experience in a related discipline
- Prior experience in an AS9100 and Lean Manufacturing facility a definite asset
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and MASTERCAM
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Strong technical knowledge, capabilities
- Sound technical problem solving skills
