A Security Systems Installer is a skilled professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various security systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. **Responsibilities**:
Installation: The primary responsibility of a Security Systems Installer is to install a variety of security systems based on client needs and project requirements. These systems can include burglar alarms, access control systems, video surveillance (CCTV), fire alarms, intercom systems, and other related security technologies.

Site Assessment: Before installation, the installer may conduct a site assessment to understand the specific security needs of the property, identifying potential vulnerabilities and determining the most suitable system configuration.

Wiring and Connectivity: The installer will be responsible for laying and connecting cables and wires to ensure proper integration and functionality of the security systems. They must follow industry standards and best practices to maintain the integrity of the installation.

Mounting Equipment: Mounting cameras, sensors, keypads, and other security devices at strategic locations to maximize coverage and effectiveness of the security system.

Testing and Configuration: After installation, the Security Systems Installer conducts thorough testing of all components to verify proper functioning. They will configure settings and adjust system parameters as needed to meet client requirements.

User Training: Provide training to clients or end-users on how to use the security systems correctly and effectively, ensuring they understand how to operate, arm, and disarm the alarms, access control procedures, and any other relevant features.

Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and inspections of installed systems to ensure they are in optimal working condition. Additionally, they will troubleshoot and repair any issues or malfunctions that may arise during the system's lifecycle.

Compliance and Codes: Stay up-to-date with relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, and guidelines related to security systems and ensure all installations meet these requirements.

Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing client inquiries, and offering technical support when necessary. Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with clients is crucial.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and maintenance work, including system configurations, client information, and any changes made during the process.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or vocational training in electronics, security systems, or a related field is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Security Systems Installer or in a similar role.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of security systems, including access control, CCTV, alarms, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical and low-voltage systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces if required.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to the installation and maintenance of security systems.

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Basic knowledge of applicable provincial and federal laws and regulations
- Experience with safe environment by following codes, standards and legal regulations
- Own tools/equipment including steel-toes safety boots and gloves
