Active Scholars is a not-for-profit summer camp that focus’ on **S*cience **T*echnology
**E*ngineering **A**rt and **M**ath ( **S.T.E.A.M.*) education while developing physical literacy as well.

Our lead classroom instructors are certified teachers, through Ontario College of Teachers, who facilitate an engaging learning experience throughout the school year. Our Scholars

(campers between the ages of 7-13) will gain new knowledge and skill sets through our

S.T.E.A.M. curriculum and equal-time sports participation. Active Scholars is hiring a

Behaviour specialist for the Summer of 2023. This position is supported by the Canadian

Summer Jobs program.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Uphold the core values of Active Scholars - Diversity and Inclusion, Gender Equity,

Integrity, and Holistic development
- Work with students that may require extra support
- Work with challenging behaviour
- Adapt and modify curriculum for individual campers' needs
- Maintain equipment and classroom
- Provide, a fun, safe, learning environment for all campers
- Collaborate with staff
- Supervise campers during breaks and lunch

**Qualifications**
- Must have experience working with students of varying behaviours
- Experience working in schools is preferred
- Must attend online training and virtual meetings
- Must have police record check
- Bonus: camp experience

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- working with children of varying needs: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
