We are looking for a passionate, driven and trustworthy individual to join our Global Corporate & Specialty Claims team In this role you will support GCS Value Proposition every day and with every interaction by providing excellent customer and stakeholder communication on claim matters. You will also be providing outstanding customer service to our clients and stakeholders.

What you'll do- Investigate, evaluate and settle complex PD liability files along with some BI, Commercial General Liability Casualty and possibly some E&O, D&O and US claims with claimants or their representatives- Ability to handle a varied pending, including files in both pre-litigation and litigation as well as out-of-province claims.- High level of comfort dealing directly with key clients and broker on all claim related issues and other assistance as required- Interpret and confirm insurance coverage using background knowledge of relevant case law combined with a detailed understanding of policy wordings- Ensure file reserves are set on a timely and accurate basis, in line with company protocols- Retain control over expenses through pro-active handling techniques- Review and analyze Third Party Adjuster other external reports to ensure accurate disposition of claims with view to handle costs and provide outstanding customer service;- Provide instructions to vendors and TPA’s to adjust claims;- Ensure vendors and TPA’s adhere to company policies and procedures;- Clearly document and summarize file activity- Understand and adhere to Aviva’s claim procedures and guidelines- Ability to communicate and work well with other departments within Aviva- Expert understanding of the claims' experience while understanding the technical strategic direction for the claims file- Look for new and incremental ways to improve things every day for the customer- Clear understanding of financial elements of our claims function to ensure we remain financially strong and deliver year on year improvement in our business performance- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the financial information gathered in Aviva systems- Identify and report on any suspicions of fraud or financial irregularities in line with existing Aviva procedures- Find opportunities to improve the customer journey, the claims handling processes and financial outcomes for our business- Key deliverables for the role that will determine how success is defined and measured.- Consistently demonstrate “above and beyond” customer experiences.- Improved financial outcomes for the business through pro-active claims' handling;- Improved identification of viable recovery opportunities;- Individual contribution and actions taken and delivered upon to achieve better outcomes;

What you'll bring- CIP or FCIP Industry designation preferred- University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent Casualty technical work experience- 7 + years previous claims' experience;- 5 + years of Commercial Claims; with a solid understanding of more complex Casualty PD liability claims- Exposure to US claims/ E&O/ D&0 claims an asset- Client interaction experience- Technical competence in Commercial insurance- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Computer proficiency; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, ClaimCenter- Sound decision making and problem solving skills- Stand as an expert and provide in-depth advice to customers and other stakeholders for GCS- Understand what matters to our customers- Think critically and collaborate with all stakeholders to get the best outcomes.- Your passion is infectious, you’re a self-motivated problem-solver and go above and beyond for our customers
