**Overview**:
Commissionaires Great Lakes offers an immediate opportunity for a versatile, highly motivated Security Professional. We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills, strong working knowledge of computer systems, CCTV experience, a positive attitude and the ability to provide excellent customer service, security and protection for our client's site. As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with mínimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.

**Job Profile**:
The commissionaire will report to and work with the Site Supervisor and Area Manager. He/she will utilize the post orders to provide superior customer service, security and protection to their client and the client’s property/assets.

**Duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Provide front-desk reception coverage for facility; Answer main switchboard line, and direct calls as appropriate;
- Perform after-hours preventative patrols throughout the facility, ensuring rooms are secure, and monitor for all safety / security concerns;
- Assist all Western staff, students, researchers, and visitors who are entering and using the facility;
- Screen visitors for meetings with lab staff and scientists;
- Provide access control for the facility, including monitoring all card swipe entries into and within the facility;
- Respond to calls for service, including emergency situations, per written site procedures;
- Monitor alarm systems for a variety of alarms, from door holds, panic alarms, code blue calls, fire alarms, etc;
- Liaise with facility leadership teams, and campus police, as necessary for all incidents;
- Work with departmental leaders to ensure the best possible security presence is provided for the facility;
- Read, interpret, and perform all duties as described on site Post Orders;
- Act as a trainer for new site guards as requested by Regional Manager
- Perform other duties as may be required by Regional Manager or Client.

**Required Education, Qualifications and Experience**:

- Must have Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Customer service/reception/administrative skills
- The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential

**Hours of work**:Monday - Friday 07:00 - 15:00
