**Catering Manager**

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for introducing the Delta Hotel by Marriott Markham to all market segments and the surrounding communities. They are accountable for the achievement or overachievement of catering food and beverage revenue goals, solicitation activity, lead development, market research, market intelligence and negotiation of catering and event business while achieving customer service goals.
- Takes lead on daily/weekly banquet event order (BEO) meetings with Banquets, Front Office, Director of F&B and the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Determine and actively solicit prospective customers from existing market information including but not limited to organization social committees, 3rdparty planners, marketing and public relations firms and communications firms.
- Generate and present proposals and contracts to customers, tailored to their requirements.
- Negotiates catering & event bookings within established parameters.
- Work with hotel marketing team to promote hotel on social media websites.
- Entertains potential and existing clients.
- Assist clients in mapping out event programs to maximize hotel revenue and resources to exceed guest expectations.
- Works closely with all operating departments to exceed guest expectations by providing clear, timely and effective information.
- Up-selling food and beverage menus to maximize revenues within set guidelines.
- Be available for clients during evening & weekends as needed to secure business and assist during events.
- Perform comprehensive site inspections to “Create the Vision” of the event.
- Develop and continuously update action plans for review each month with Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Independently responsible for achievement of new business generation and revenue objectives outlined in action plans and sales activities.
- **Working Experience**_
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in event design and/or event sales.
- **Knowledge**_
- Previous catering experience at a hotel or event venue an asset.
- **Education**_
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management degree_._
- **Soft Skills**_
- Sell creative and innovative ideas to customer.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Flexible hours based on upcoming events and groups to include weekends & evenings.
- **Language**_
- Ability to communicate effectively (written & verbal) in English
- **Physical Requirements**_
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods
