**1 Position**

**Wage: $19.05 per hour**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintain the cleanliness of Inasmuch Shelter in accordance with established Mission Services’ ‘standards of care’
- Complete janitorial cleaning responsibilities, including cleaning resident rooms after discharge
- Periodic project cleaning as directed by the Manager of Operations or Operations Supervisor
- Assist staff in identifying maintenance concerns, and report these concerns to the Manager of Operations or Operations Supervisor
- Keep an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and submit inventory shortcomings to management for re-order
- Use Personal Protective Equipment in accordance with Mission Services’ policies and legislative requirements
- Appropriately handle and store WHMIS products in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Attend staff meetings as required
- Ensure the general safety and security of the program is maintained
- Adhere to a strict confidentiality policy to ensure the safety of residents within the program
- Adhere to all Mission Services and Inasmuch House and Shelter Standards policies and procedures
- Assist with grounds maintenance including; sweeping, shoveling, salting, sanding, garbage removal
- Work safely, identify any health and safety concerns and report to management, and follow Mission Services workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times
- Other duties as required to ensure the safe operation of the facilities

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum one (1) year of cleaning experience
- Preference for completion of a formal training program
- Sensitivity to issues faced by women-identified individuals and their dependents who have been exposed to abuse and/or homelessness
- Commitment to upholding the organization’s mission, values and standards
- Good time management
- Good communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Works effectively to solve problems, both independently and as a team member
- Must be flexible and able to take change of plans on a regular basis
- Able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs.) as required
- First Aid Training is asset
- WHMIS Training is an asset

**HOURS OF WORK**:

- 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday - 11:00AM-7:00PM)
- Possibility to work additional or alternative hours may be required based on program needs

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Two-Step Tuberculosis Skin Test
- Proof of two COVID-19 vaccinations, or willingness to register to receive these vaccinations as soon as possible

**COMPENSATION**:

- Wage: $19.05 per hour
- *Benefits after 3-months of paid, active employment
- *Group RRSP Employer matching up to 3% after one (1) year of continuous employment
