**Role**
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Energy Policy Division, the Executive Director is accountable for leading the Resource Development Policy Branch and has a critical role in supporting the Ministry’s key priorities related to legislation and regulatory policy supporting primary production and transportation of oil, gas, oil sands, and mineral resources, along with carbon capture, utilization and storage policy development and implementation.

In this role, you will lead inter-related units providing critical policy and planning advice and technical expertise. You will be accountable for exhaustive policy analysis and stakeholder as well as Indigenous consultation that support decision-making processes. You will ensure related policies are represented in and consistent with government legislation, policies and frameworks that enable benefits for all Albertans, including First Nations, Métis Settlements and rights-bearing Métis communities. You will be accountable for managing a sizable branch budget for both personnel and non-personnel expenditures in compliance with the Financial Administration Act and applicable directives and department policies.

Key to your success will be to ensure alignment and integration with the strategic goals of the ministry and the corporate goals of government. The ability to inspire a team of innovative professionals and create meaningful connections will ensure success for the branch as well as the department.

**Qualifications**
Your background includes related senior management experience with strengths in cross-ministry deliverables, strategic foresight, people leadership, policy analysis, and resource management. You are recognized for your ability to build collaborative relationships, resolve complex issues and provide sound analytical and technical advice. With your advanced integrative thinking and solutions-focused leadership skills, you will work closely with stakeholders to develop strategic partnerships, identify opportunities for collaboration, and balance needs in facilitating key policy and program initiatives.

Experience with energy, mineral resource development and environmental initiatives would be a definite asset. A related degree is preferred.

**Salary**

$4,934.42 - $6,484.75 Bi-weekly. ($128,788 - $169,251 / year)
