**Purpose of Position**: To professionally work as part of a team to provide quality ongoing support for adults with developmental and physical disabilities maximizing their potential in a safe environment.

**Job Description (Full Time) : Monday-Friday (between 8:30am
- 3:30pm)**

**Direct Report**: Program Supervisor

The purpose of the position is to work as part of a team to provide quality ongoing support for adults with developmental & or physical disabilities in maximizing their potential in a safe, nurturing environment.

**The responsibilities and tasks include**:

- working alongside LUSO staff in implementing various activities
- work with clients individually and in small groups while encouraging decision making and independence
- assist clients during activities whether it be with verbal cues, hand over hand assistance, prompting, encouragement or any way that helps the client fully participate in the activity at hand
- develop activities, with planning team, that can be implemented with clients such as educational based, sensory or life skills activities
- adhere to all LUSO policies and procedures
- be proactive in ensuring the safety of oneself and clients
- report any incidents, injuries or seizure related occurrences to preceptor, supervisor or manager
- assist with daily maintenance activities
- assist in facilitating planned group activities

**Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience)**
- Community College DSW, CYW, ECE Certificate or equivalent
- Valid CPR, First Aid certification
- CPI training is an asset
- Knowledge and experience with developmental, mental and physical disabilities

**Skills/Competencies/Attributes**
- Proven leadership qualities and strong supervision skills
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to take initiative

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
