Community Services Caseworker

The Community Services Caseworker assists individuals and families who are seeking aid and assistance from or have been referred to The Salvation Army alongside co-workers.
**HOURS**:
Full-Time 30 hours (Tuesday-Friday_) must be flexible to shift some hours of work to when special events, Christmas & other programs are scheduled outside of regular hours as instructed by the supervisor._
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- The ability to pray with and for clients/families as they seek spiritual help and support.
- Offer support and be an advocate for clients/families in helping empower them to become more self-sufficient and help them re-integrate into the greater community.
- Involved in intake services, client assessment, emergency assistance, ongoing case management and/or other forms of direct service for clients applicable to the program.
- Through crisis and ongoing empathy, provides supportive attention, assists individuals in determining appropriate and mutually agreed upon goal achievement processes.
- Facilitates effective problem-solving behaviors of the client/family
- Make referrals to other agencies in the best interest of the client
- Provides a variety of casework duties, including analysis of data, progress reports, maintaining an up-to-date referral binder, statistical recordings, data input in Link2 Feed.
- Maintains confidentiality and keeps accurate client files/case notes.
- Awareness and compliance with Policies and Procedures.
- Agree and adhere to The Salvation Army mission, values, and standards
- Participate in ongoing training as provided.
- Networks with other agencies to resources services for the benefit of clients and programs.
- Networks with Salvation Army, government, and community social service providers to coordinate resources for the benefit of clients.
- Provides written reports as requested by management.
- Maintains accurate reporting and documentation of Link2Feed database.
- May be required to support other Salvation Army staff in other departments at the direction of management. [Christmas Kettles, Christmas Assistance & Community Fundraising]
- Develops and implements case management of assigned clients/residents; assists clients/residents in establishing goals, and monitoring progress.
- Maintains and updates all appropriate related to clients/residents and initiates any new documentation; completes all reports required by the funder and The Salvation Army
- Ability to multi-task
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education/Certifications**:
- High School Completion
- College courses/completion of post-secondary education that are applicable to this position
**Experience**:
- One year but less than three years of prior related experience, including working with multi-barrier persons**.**
**Required Skills/Knowledge**:
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Current License with clean Drivers Abstract
- Proficient Computer Skills
- Clean Criminal Check
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean driver abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
