We are currently looking for a** Manager, Wellbeing & Retirement** to join our Human Resources team in a contract role for up to 18 months. Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards you will be responsible for leading the provisioning of our benefits and pensions plan as well as driving forward our health and wellness strategy.

**As **Manager, Wellbeing & Retirement** you will**:

- Lead the pension and benefits thought leadership, design, communication and administration balancing employee engagement, value and affordability;
- Advance the health and wellness strategy across all Emera Operating Companies by engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders;
- Lead a team of 3 professionals who specialize in administering the benefits and pension plans for the Emera Canadian Operating Companies;
- Provide guidance to the administrator of pension plans with focus on education, communication, and governance;
- Provide guidance to the administrator of the benefits plans with a focus on the benefits strategy and annual review of the medical, dental and insurance plans and advising the leadership team of recommended changes for the Canadian Operating Companies;
- Advance the maturity of the pension plan and benefit plan design;
- Identify process improvements and efficiencies for the wellbeing, benefits, and pension plans;
- Oversee health and wellness events, challenges and communication plan focused on engaging employees in actively improving their wellbeing;
- Identify opportunities to improve the employee experience relating to the wellbeing, benefits, and pension plans;

**What skills will make you successful?**

You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:

- A bachelor’s degree along with knowledge of pension and benefits best practices and legislation gained through education (CEBS or equivalent) or relevant equivalent experience;
- Capable of providing leadership while maintaining focus on personal workload and priorities;
- Interest and experience in researching, promoting and being an ambassador of employee health and wellbeing;
- Proven stakeholder management experience - in this role you will collaborate with and manage multiple external and internal stakeholders;
- Keen attention to detail and efficiency driven - we are keen on process improvement;
- Experience with or interest in marketing & promotion of your portfolio - you will be writing employee communications to promote employee engagement;
- You are customer service oriented;
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Desire to maintain a positive work environment promoting development and psychological safety for the team.
