**OVERVIEW**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead in coordinating environmental field work and community engagements, including, but not limited to, agendas and travel arrangements
- Lead in managing and maintaining contact with community environment portfolio holders.
- Manage and coordinate resources, equipment, and materials
- Assist the Environment Program in managing and implementing projects and events
- Assist in the development and delivery of the Environment Program’s communications materials in support of the Program’s projects and events
- Support in the preparation of reports, briefing notes, memorandums, minutes, and other types of documents
- Support file management and the program’s record keeping system
- Perform other duties as assigned

**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or other relevant disciplines; an equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered
- Experience working with First Nations and their citizens and a demonstrated understanding of First Nations culture, traditions, and territories
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong partnerships and communicate effectively
- Self-motivated individual that displays initiative to independently coordinate projects, events, and communication strategies in an organized manner
- Strong ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to create and maintain accurate and organized documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Certification and/or training in modes of transportation such as boat, ATV, or snowmobile would be considered an asset

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must provide a current and satisfactory criminal record check
- Must hold a valid class 5 MB driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle for business travel
- Must be willing to accommodate occasional overnight stays for fieldwork, community engagements, events, conferences, and other meetings
