IATA’s Business Intelligence Services are the focal point and driving force for data management and global BI services for the aviation industry.
The team is comprised of aviation industry experts, data management and analytic professionals and data scientists based in Montreal and Geneva.
The Program Head, Schedule Project will lead and manage the newly launched IATA Schedule and MCT data collection program. This role is accountable for the successful delivery of the entire project phase and oversees the smooth transition to operations.
This role is part of the Business Intelligence Delivery unit and reports to the Head BI Delivery & Data Management.
What your day would be like
- Project owner of the Schedule and MCT data collection program. Oversee and manage the entire project (solution build, and airline engagement) from setup phase to execution. Accountable for delivering program road map and ensuring that the program objectives are achieved on time.
- Participate and contribute to the development and communication of the program success strategy including program governance and road map. Accountable for executing the program governance and legal framework.
- Work with IATA Senior leadership and stakeholders to ensure that the schedule data program is part of the MC and global agenda and promoted among the airline community on the senior level
- Manage the Airline Engagement team to ensure that program objectives are understood by the airline community and accountable for achieving the airline participation and coverage target as per the business case.
- Lead and guide the project team to perform ongoing risk assessments to identify new and emerging risks that could impact the program.
Accountable for risk mitigation and ensure that appropriate risk management strategies are in place to address the risks defined in the business case.
- Manage the Technical track and technical development team to ensure end-to-end development and delivery of the technical solution. Accountable for 100% compliance to IATA Unified Infrastructure, NFR and other ITS guidelines including security and governance.
- Provide business expertise and know-hows in guiding the vendor on schedule and MCT standards and data flow design
- Work closely with IT and BIS teams to ensure delivered solution are in line with enterprise practices of data management and industry/IATA standards, while preserving business requirement and client needs
- Establish and implement the new Operational model with the solution partners. Streamline the data processes within the overall solution architecture design in response to the overall strategy and industry needs
- Oversees the end-to-end business control including developing Statement of Work on change requests and sign-off on the deliverables with the vendor
- Ensuring the performance, reliability and quality of the solutions built
- Periodical review of vendor performance and re-assessment of resource planning. Regular reporting on vendor KPIs and provide solutions for continuous improvement.
- Manage the performance of the project team.

You possess the following:
Education
M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Aviation Information Systems, Aviation business related degrees with advanced technical and data management certification is an asset.
Skills and Experience
- Must have solid aviation business expertise with 10+ years of middle to senior level working experiences, ideally in the network planning, scheduling or data management.
10+ years experience in a data management lead role
- Solid experience in managing senior executive level relationship and able to articulate and communicate at strategic and industry level.
- Experience people manager with managerial experiences.
- Must have broad and sufficient knowledge of various aspects of data Management including data governance, data quality, master data management, data integration, information life cycle. Also is familiar with the tools for data management (Snowflake), metadata management, business intelligence and reporting (MS Power BI), integration and systems architecture.
- Requires solid knowledge of business planning, resource/financial planning and reporting, proven project management skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication: the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner.
- Team player and strong sense of ownership. Familiar with complex matrix structure
- Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
