As a Cat Groomer at Paws at Fort York, you will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to our feline clients. You will work closely with cat owners to understand their preferences and ensure their beloved pets receive the highest standard of care. Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
**Responsibilities**:

- **Grooming Services**: Perform a range of grooming services including bathing, brushing, combing, hair trimming, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and dematting, according to the specific needs of each cat and the requests of their owners.
- **Handling and Restraint**: Safely handle cats with care and compassion, using appropriate restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process.
- **Client Communication**: Consult with cat owners to understand their grooming preferences and any specific concerns regarding their pets. Provide recommendations on grooming techniques and products to maintain the health and appearance of their cats.
- **Health and Safety**: Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming environment, adhering to strict hygiene protocols to prevent the spread of infections or diseases. Monitor cats for signs of health issues and report any concerns to the appropriate veterinary professionals.
- **Documentation**: Keep accurate records of each cat's grooming history, including the services provided, any special instructions from the owner, and observations regarding the cat's health and behavior.
- **Customer Service**: Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, scheduling grooming appointments, and ensuring a positive experience for both cats and their owners.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Minimum 1 year of professional experience working as a cat groomer or in a related animal care field.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of feline behavior, anatomy, and grooming techniques. Familiarity with different cat breeds and their grooming requirements is highly desirable.
- **Skills**: Proficient grooming skills, including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- **Certification**: Certification from a recognized grooming school or association is preferred but not required.
- **Passion**: Genuine love for cats and a commitment to providing them with the highest quality care and grooming services.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: Up to $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
