Bright's Grove, Canada Huron House Boys' Home Full time

Early childhood educators plan, organize and implement programs for children and youth between the of ages 12-18. Child Care educators and assistants lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical, and emotional growth and ensure their security and well-being.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the best interest and long-standing image of the Huron House Boys' Home is maintained throughout the community. Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, taking youth to local points of interest, and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems
- May assist supervisors in keeping records.
- Promote the Huron House Boys' Home by attending all necessary functions/ activities/events.
- Ensure that each youth in care receives the highest quality support, care, and supervision.
- Ensure that each youth is protected from abuse, bullying, or mistreatment by any individual.

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- ECE, PSW, CCW, CYW, BA Possesses a full and valid Ontario Driver’s license free of limitations or other concerns that impinge upon your ability to drive agency vehicles or that have a negative impact on your insurability with our carrier.
- Possess or obtain within three months of employment certification in CPR and First Aid
- Obtain a Criminal Record Check
- Obtain a medical check-up verifying being free of communicable disease and fit to perform all aspects of the job
- You will be provided with Possess or obtain, within three months of employment, certification in NVCI or equivalent course.

The successful applicants are required to have a vulnerable sector police check, a doctor’s note stating you are free from communicable disease, including COVID-19 vaccine proof.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: $21.49-$23.44 per hour
