**Westside is currently recruiting for Preschool Lead Programs Assistant. This is a seasonal/temporary position with full time (30) hours per week. This position will be funded by the Canada Summer Job Grant. This is an exciting, hands-on supervisory and leadership role and includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities**:

- To supervise, lead and instruct summer daycamps & programs for preschoolers ages 12M-6Y in group games, sports, physical literacy, performing arts, crafts, swimming and more
- To provide a safe, fun and quality daycamp experience
- To provide leadership to campers of all ages and abilities
- Supervision of leaders, leaders in training and volunteers
- To complete all the required daycamp lesson planning and evaluation of camps
- Actively and enthusiastically participate in all aspects of the daycamps
- Set-up/take-down, cleaning and general maintenance of equipment
- Administrative duties as required
- Day to day risk management skills
- Group control and behavior management of campers
- Assist in program research and development of program curriculum
- Assist in staff training
- Assist with staff supervision and Sr. Coverage as needed

**Preschool Lead Programs Assistant Position**:

- Summer daycamps run from July 3- Sept 1, 2023
- Mandatory training will commence June 20th, 2023 (dates below)
- Must be available a minimum of 8 out of 9 weeks of summer season (July 3- Sept 1, 2023)

**Requirements**:

- Must be available for mandatory training on June 20, June 24, June 26-29, 2023
- Must have current Alberta Approved First Aid training agency - CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid and must be valid through to Sept 1, 2023
- Successful applicant must have a clear Vulnerable Sector Search completed at their own cost
- You must be aged between 18 and 30 and be legally entitled to work in Canada, International students are not eligible (Based on Canada Summer job Grant Requirements)

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- 3+ years previous experience in working in an early childhood setting including daycamps, recreational programs or preschool
- Relevant certifications (such as NCCP/High 5) considered an asset
- Education, experience and certifications in physical literacy and fundamental movement skills considered an asset
- Early childhood education (Level 1) & similar certifications considered an asset
