Freelance Writer

Dig Marketing is a niche digital marketing agency serving the gardening industry across North America. We are currently seeking a part-time Freelance Writer to join our growing team of creative, dynamic marketing professionals.

You should possess the following attributes/ skills:

- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism, or Advertising OR 1-2 years of professional writing experience
- Excellent creative writing skills with the ability to engage a reader in a variety of styles
- Adept at capturing and replicating the brand voice of a variety of clients
- Garden Writer experience - Gardening, landscaping, or plant knowledge is a huge plus The more you know about gardening or landscaping, the better.
- Ability to perform detailed, accurate, and efficient research
- Functional knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) as it pertains to content creation
- Proven ability to work to deadlines on a rotating weekly basis
- Experience with G-Suite apps, including Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Gmail
- Positive, team-player attitude with the ability to work independently
- Capacity for approximately 10 hours of work per week

The following attributes are considered significant assets:

- Strong interest in plants, houseplants, gardening, and/or landscape design
- Professional experience with gardening, plant and flower design, landscape design, or experience working in retail garden centers
- Experience creating, managing, and/or scheduling social media content (Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
- Experience with web publishing (WordPress, Shopify)
