**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our growing team at Dilys Staffing on a part-time/full-time casual basis at our client location in Embrun/Limoges area. Dilys Staffing provides PSWs with the opportunity to use their skills and experience to provide compassionate, individualized care to residents at our partner long-term care and retirement home facilities while benefiting from our reputation for outstanding service and commitment to finding the right fit.
**What You Will Do**
In the PSW role, you will:
- Ensure complete resident-focused care is provided to fully meet individual needs and expectations; assist residents with activities of daily living including mobility, transfers, eating, dressing, toileting, personal hygiene care and grooming.
- Provide cognitive stimulation through social and emotional support; strongly encourage residents to use sensory aids such as hearing aids and glasses; escort and accompany residents to planned recreational activities and medical appointments.
- Assist residents with mobility needs including transfers from bed to chair, ambulation by walking with assistive devices, and range of motion exercises to maintain strength and flexibility.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks in resident rooms like making beds, doing laundry, and tidying rooms to provide a clean and comfortable environment; assist with meal preparation and feeding to ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
- Diligently take and accurately document vital sign measurements including blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and oxygen levels; promptly report any concerning or significant changes to the nursing team.
- Consistently carry out individualized care plans in close coordination with the nursing care team; maintain timely, comprehensive documentation of all services provided and any condition changes observed.
- Regularly communicate with residents' families and caregivers to provide detailed updates on status, raise any concerns, and discuss ways to further improve their quality of life.
- Provide attentive supervision and extensive hands-on assistance to residents to meet fundamental care needs and optimize physical, mental, and emotional quality of life.
- Vigilantly promote safety through proper use of assistive equipment, diligent fall prevention precautions, and stringent infection control best practices.
- Proactively participate in ongoing training programs and professional development activities to improve caregiving knowledge and skills to better serve residents.
**What We Are Looking For**
- We require PSWs to have their **PSW Certificate** from an accredited institution or program (_please note: Essor College is not considered an accredited institution_), or an equivalent certification like International Educated Nurses.
- Valid credentials including **Enhanced Covid-19 Vaccination**, **CPR/BLSC**, **Vulnerable Sector Screen**, and **Tuberculosis Test/Chest X-ray Result** are mandatory.
- **Valid Drivers License, access to a vehicle, and committed to commuting to the Embrun/Limoges area**.
