Presentation Diver

**SUMMARY**:

- Reporting to the Manager, Guest Programming, the Presentation Diver will conduct seasonal “Scuba Claus” educational dive presentations focusing on the natural history of the Strait of Georgia for Aquarium visitors as either a diver in costume as “Scuba Claus” or as a dive tender. Dive team roles will rotate between team members. Position duties includes all dive prep, set-up, break-down, reset and documentation. All dive gear will be provided. Despite the traditional male gender of the Santa Claus character, this is a gender-neutral position and all qualified applicants will be equally considered._

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Current WorkSafeBC Occupational Certificate of Medical Fitness
- CAUS Level 1 Scientific Diver qualification preferred, but minimum Recreational Open Water Diver certification required
- Drysuit certification or logged experience
- Friendly, positive and team-oriented attitude

**Experience**:

- 25 logged cold water dives (must show proof of dives in diver’s logbook)
- Full face mask use preferred
- Interpretive experience in museum, zoo, aquarium or related facility preferred

**Schedule**:

- Contract duration: October 16 - December 28
- 25 hours per week (two positions, Tue - Sat and Sat - Thu)
- 20 hours per week (one position, Fri - Mon)
- Typically 0930 - 1500, but with some earlier days for practice before Aquarium opening

**Pay: $35 / Hour
