**Reports To**:Manager, Marketing

**Mission**:To create an environment that inspires a passion for student success.

**Desired Results of the Position**:

- Promotes all of the Algonquin Students’ Association (SA) facilities, services and events across all three campuses.
- Connects all students to the SA through engaging video and photo content.

**Nature and Scope**:
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing, the Videographer and Photographer is responsible for creating high-quality videos and photos that support the SA communications and marketing goals and objectives. The storyteller thoroughly understands photography, short-form cinematography, video sound, video editing, and video post-production. This position actively engages in storyboarding, scripting, coordinating video shoots, photoshoots, editing, post-production, and on-time delivery
(online, digital files) of all content.

**Job Duties**:

- Videography and photography for events, facilities, and services to be used in promotional campaigns for the SA.
- Gather and propose ideas, topics, and requirements for video and photo projects.
- Film, direct, and edit video and photo assignments as directed by the SA.
- Determine supplies/resources needed for film assignments and request them from the Marketing Officers.
- Schedule production and shooting times and book/scout any necessary locations and equipment for photography and filming.
- Creatively utilize different methods for filming and photography.
- Create motion graphics pieces and content to be displayed on the digital screens throughout Algonquin College.
- Keep inventory of all video and photography equipment owned by the SA and ensure all is maintained and in proper working order.
- Maintain video/photo archive work from previous years.
- Supervise talent on set during video and photo shoots.
- Ensure all content is compatible with all social media platforms.
- Confirm that all videos/photos the SA produces align with our accessibility standards and brand strategy.
- Maintain live streams and timelapse videos as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in Television Broadcasting, Film Production, Photography or another related field
- Three years of direct work experience in a videography and photography role
- Experience with motion graphics and Adobe Creative Suites
- Drone knowledge is considered an asset
- Advance knowledge in creating and executing successful video and photo shoots
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality
- Ability to build and sustain relationships
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
- Willing to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and evenings

**Compensation**:

- This position is part of CUPE Local 5154 - Level 4 ($28.61-$31.71)
- This position is a full-time position, 35 hours a week
