Aquatic Leader

**DUTIES**
Under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor or a designated supervisor, the Aquatic Leader provides leadership, guidance, instruction and is a positive role model to staff; oversees the Aquatics area; contributes to the delivery of quality aquatics programs and services; performs lifeguard and instruction duties as required and ensures safety and a positive experience for all aquatic patrons. In the absence of the Supervisor, the Leader is the authority on the shift.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Experience in the aquatic field and demonstrated leadership skills supplemented by graduation from the Recreation Leadership Program and required aquatic qualifications as per the Public Pools Act including current National Lifeguard Service Award, Swim for Life (Lifesaving Society) Instructor Qualification, Standard First Aid, C.P.R, Level C and AED and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certifications; or sufficient qualifications as determined by assessment.
