**Hickory Creek Childcare Centre** is growing our team of Early Childhood Educators Hickory Creek is a Niagara Region Born and Growing centre, that aims to foster a culture of diversity and open-mindedness for all.

This is a split shift position. Monday to Friday. 7:00am-10:00am & 2:30pm-5:30pm for a daily total of 6 hours paid. PA Day shifts 6:45-3:45 or 8:45-5:45.

**What will you be doing**:
As a School Age Teacher, you will work side-by-side with other teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

- Take the lead in developing and implementing a program in line with Hickory Creek’s curriculum that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.
- Walk children to and from the centre to their respective schools (10 minutes each way) as well as pick up children off the bus when applicable
- Develop PA Day camp full day activities for the children in your care
- Observe and assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents, guardians and supervisor
- Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
- Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
- Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
- Adhere to all centre policies and procedures
- Follow all guidelines according to Ministry of Education CCEYA and “how does learning happen” pedagogy
- Base pay based on experience plus $2.00 WEG and $1.00 CWELCC (base + $2.00 + $1.00) Minimum rate: $22.00 ($19.00+$2.00+$1.00)

**Qualifications**
- Applicants must have a current Vulnerable Sector Check from the Regional police (within the last 6 months)
- Must have a current CPR/ First Aid Certification
- Good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators is an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills to gain trust and respect of children and their parents
- Demonstrate skills working as a team and enjoy a team environment
- The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Fluent oral and written English language communication skills;
