Located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, SOWINS is a non-profit society providing safe refuge and communitybased resources for women and children in the South Okanagan. SOWINS operates a transitional and second stage housing facilities, as well as counselling and outreach services. At SOWINS we work from an intersectional feminist philosophy and support trauma-informed practice and harm reduction models.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
The Finance Officer will serve as an essential partner and strategic advisor to the Executive Director and Executive Team, playing a key role in collaboratively shaping the long-term financial strategy and success of SOWINS. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position holds responsibility for providing strategic financial leadership and oversight of the SOWINS overall well-being including investments, asset management, capital projects, insurance, enterprise risk management/compliance, financial process improvement, finance and accounting policy development and business planning. An emphasis is on standardizing and improving core financial and accounting operations and processes while managing compliance/risk. This role requires an individual with superior communication skills, outstanding relationship building abilities, and a strong financial management background.
