**What you will do**:

- Support and work alongside seasonal staff members by providing training, coaching on safety, answering questions, partnering on the completion of work assignments.
- Maintaining small plot research equipment, including diagnosing issues and repairing as needed.
- Follow procedures, prepare seed samples, plant, spray, maintain and harvest research trials, collect data, and operate field equipment as well as a truck and trailer.
- Assist in conducting field tours.
- Model our core value of safety by leading and enabling a culture in which you and your team are actively contributing to a safe work environment.
- Longer working hours during busy season and some travel will be required.

**What you will bring**:

- High school or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture preferred.
- Related agricultural crop research experience and/or farm background is a plus.
- Knowledge of crop research methodology an asset.
- Valid driver’s license required; able and willing to obtain Class 3 driver’s license.
- Experience operating small plot research equipment such as tractors, seeders, sprayers and combines an asset.
- Possess a strong attention to detail, safety-focus, and ability to keep organized.
- Eligibility to obtain membership in the Alberta Institute of Agrologists an asset.
