Opportunity to Spark Joy: Seniors Program Facilitator Wanted

Are you someone who is enthusiastic for senior well-being and have a passion for creating vibrant and engaging programs? Caledon Meals on Wheels (CMOW) is seeking a dynamic individual to become our next part-time Seniors Program Facilitator. This is your chance to lead, inspire, and bring a touch of joy to the lives of seniors in Bolton, Orangeville, and Caledon. This position is part-time offering between 10-15 hours weekly.

In this role you will be:
A designer of enriching experiences:

- Devise, plan, and execute social, recreational, and educational programs for our fantastic adults aged 55 and above.
- Get hearts pumping by conducting invigorating fitness activities tailored for seniors.
- Create exciting and enriching programs that seniors want to be involved in.

A warm welcomer:

- Extend a warm welcome to both new and existing participants, making them feel valued and at home in our programs.
- Foster opportunities for engagement for any skill level in our programs.

A team collaborator:

- Work hand in hand with the CMOW program team and volunteers to ensure seamless implementation of planned activities.
- Keep the program pantry stocked by managing and organizing snacks and meals for programs.

A community connector:

- Spread the word and encourage participation in CMOW programs through outreach efforts within senior residences and the community.
- Keep the team and supervisor in the loop with regular updates on programs and participant engagement.

A resourceful navigator:

- Provide valuable information, make referrals, and connect seniors to essential services and community supports.

Ideally, you possess the following experience and skills:

- Genuine interest in the well-being of adults aged 55 and above.
- An advocate for advancing seniors' health and wellness.
- Diploma in Social Services/Gerontology or 2 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn fitness instruction for seniors.
- Tech-savvy with Windows and MS Office.
- Stellar organizational and time management skills.
- Creative flair and boundless enthusiasm.
- Flexibility to adapt to a varied schedule.
- Physical capability to lift 20 pounds (9 kilograms).
- Must have a car for travel within Bolton, Orangeville, and throughout Caledon.
- CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers Certificates are a plus.

A clear Criminal Reference/Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
