Under the supervision of the Coordinator, Records and Information Management, the Records/Scan Clerk maintains and controls the_ Plan_ Member filing system for the _Winnnipeg Employee Benefits Program. _This position _r_etrieves files or items as requested on a priority basis and performs other duties relating to the provision of filing services for the Employee Benefits Program staff, including the electronic filing (scanning) of all office documents.

**As the** **_Records/Scan Clerk_** **you will**:

- Maintain and control the_ Plan_ Member filing system (both paper and electronic)
- Scan all Program documents to capture all information and verify for accuracy
- Prepare documents for storage or archiving
- Provide search and retrieval of microfilm and microfiche documents, and purge inactive member files for microfilming
- Perform other duties as assigned, including simple benefit calculations

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- High school graduation or equivalent combination of training and experience;
- Experience in Records and Information Management and a Basic Level certificate in Records and Information Management would be an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, microfilm reader/printer and utilize word processing software such as Word (Basic), Excel (Basic), Outlook, and the Internet;
- Demonstrated initiative in exercising sound judgment and reacting resourcefully under varying conditions of flex loads and changing priorities including the ability to deal with confidential matters discreetly and logically;
- Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain a system of records and must be physically fit to perform the functions of the position including the moving of heavy boxes.

**Conditions of employment**:

- Applicants will be required to undergo proficiency testing to determine their knowledge, skills and abilities as they relate to the qualifications of the position.
- Willingness and ability to successfully complete additional training and/or certificates relevant to this position's duties within specified timeframes, if requested by _WCEBP_ management.
