**Job Summary**

Thornhill Child Care-Bowness Montgomery Child Care located in the community of Bowness, is looking for a full time cook. This position works in partnership with the Center Program Director to plan and prepare a nutritious, varied menu for children aged 12 months-6 years old. The center provides a morning snack, a hearty lunch and afternoon snack for approximately 100 people daily.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

Responsibilities and Duties will include:

- Planning and preparing a 6 week rotating menu that follows the Canada and Alberta Food Guides in partnership with the Program Director.
- Prep snack and lunch trays **including washing and putting away dishes**
- Cook and bake lunches and snacks
- Manage the weekly grocery shopping and ordering within the allocated budget.
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized, following the Alberta Public Health requirements

**Qualifications and Skills**

Required Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience as an independent cook
- The ability to work in partnership with a team
- The ability to work independently and **manage a solo kitchen**
- The ability to maintain a **clean environment that is in keeping with Alberta Public Health expectations**

**Must have access to a vehicle at least 1 day per week.
- Must have or be willing to obtain Safe Food Handling Certification
- Preference will be given to those with Post-Secondary qualifications and previous experience cooking in a child care environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
