Sustainability Data Analyst

We are seeking a dynamic self-starter to join our GreenCheck team. Reporting to the Director of GreenCheck, the Sustainability Data Analyst will ensure the development and delivery of quality-assured data and analytics for GreenCheck’s clients.

**Responsibilities**:

- Producing detailed and insightful reports and analyses using a wide range of building sustainability performance metrics (including energy, water, GHG, waste and recycling, etc.)
- Building engaging and insightful dashboards using Microsoft Power BI
- Further evolving GreenCheck’s service offering through feedback loops and continuous development
- Managing and maintaining large amounts of sustainability data across GreenCheck’s systems and databases
- Leverage the GreenCheck software platform to collect, maintain, analyze, and deliver high-quality green building performance data on behalf of our clients
- Create and improve tools to summarize building performance and provide actionable advice through monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Implement program-wide QA/QC measures to continuously assess and improve data quality and our assurance of the GreenCheck team and our clients
- Be GreenCheck’s internal software development liaison, supporting the advancement of software tools and services to support GreenCheck’s service delivery
- Support staff and clients through training on the use of the GreenCheck platform, GreenCheck’s methodologies, and key concepts.

Education, Skills, and Experience:
Required:

- Post‐secondary degree in statistics, engineering, environmental science, or mathematics
- 3+ years’ experience in an analyst/data management role
- Knowledge of energy and GHG analyses, environmental management systems, property, and corporate sustainability, including GRESB, LEED, BOMA BEST, Fitwel, ASHRAE, ISO and GHG frameworks
- Familiarity with sustainability performance metrics, including but not limited to GHG performance, energy/water/waste-use intensity, and physical climate scoring, among others
- Advanced knowledge of statistical products including both Power BI and SQL Server
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Visual Basic and C# programming
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts including data normalization and proration
- Excellent analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, is a key requirement
- Expert working with advanced Excel features including nested formulas, Visual Basic and developing macros
- Expert working with Power BI
- Experience working with SQL databases, C# and Java

Preferred:

- Knowledge of software development processes
- Accredited/experienced professional in LEED, BOMA, GRESB and Fitwel standards and underlying requirements
- Certification: LEED GA or AP - Operations and Maintenance specialty, and/or Fitwel Ambassador, and/or AEE Certified Energy Manager or Energy Auditor
