Ophthalmologist

The Island Health Division of Ophthalmology has a position for a general ophthalmologist to join three others at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Sub-specialty training would be an asset.

Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (224 acute care beds) enjoys state-of-the-art surgical suites and fluorescein angiography clinic with access to a private surgical centre located adjacent to the hospital. The hospital has full diagnostic capabilities, including a 64-slice CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, a cancer clinic and critical care intensivists and is a UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residency program site.

The Nanaimo medical community totals over 200 physicians with strong primary care physicians and a full array of skilled specialist colleagues who serve a population of 160,000 and secondary referral services to a population of 250,000.
