Prep Cook

You love food and you are looking to build up your food prep skills. August 1 we are launching a new menu with a heavy emphasis on plating and quality. On weekends you would look assist in preparing for the brunch menu. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to build up their skill working under the direction of a skilled chef.

**Hours**: Monday thru Friday, 6:30am - 3:30pm

**Pay**: based on experience

**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various utensils or grillers
- Check food while cooking to stir or turn
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

**Skills**
- Proven experience as a prep cook or similar role role in a restaurant
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work as a team within the kitchen staff
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
