**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**

The CAD Technician is responsible for providing computer-aided design (CAD) services to technical staff in a manner that is consistent with our core value for exceptional quality. This position requires working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver drawings and information in an efficient and timely manner.

LRI promotes growth within the organization. The role of the CAD Technician is intended to grow and adapt to changing work environments to respond to the evolving industry practices. They will contribute their talents and ideas to help ensure the continued success of LRI and help shape the advancement of the role.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**

The CAD Technician will be responsible to provide at least the following services for clients or other staff members:

- Organize and prioritize work tasks
- Prepare drawings for fire alarm layouts, audible signal layouts, emergency lighting, and sprinkler layouts, mechanical drawing details, as directed by the Project Manager
- Work with Project Managers and technical staff to prepare drawings
- Create electronic data files in compliance with LRI and client requirements
- Publish, post, and manage drawing sets
- Maintain drawing revisions
- Conduct site audits and transcribe measurements into drawings
- Collaborate with technical staff to ensure accuracy of drawings
- Liaise with technical staff to problem solve
- Ensure all drawings and deliverables are checked and in compliance with LRI quality standards
- Take responsibility for timely completion of deliverables
- Examine drawings to minimize errors and make required alterations as necessary
- Utilize collaboration techniques for information management and implement Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Technical diploma or certificate in electrical, mechanical, or fire protection engineering technology, CAD, Revit, BIM, or similar
- 2 years’ experience using CAD, BIM or Revit in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry; experience in the fire alarm and/or sprinkler design is an asset
- Exceptional attention to detail (including grammar and spelling) with a high degree of accuracy
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative, resourcefulness, and problem solving
- Ability to establish positive relationships with technical staff and clients
- Effective in prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing deadlines
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision in a team environment
- High degree of technical acumen with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
- Bilingual in both French and English is not required but would be considered an asset
