The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the payroll system runs smoothly and that hourly and salary employees are paid accurately and on-time on a bi-weekly basis. This position is responsible for ensuring all regulatory and legislative compliance procedures related to payroll are performed correctly and accurately. Payroll Specialist may also communicate with employees to answer any payroll questions, resolve issues with payments and notify employees of any issues with payments. We have over 700 year-round employees and onboard up to 1300 seasonal employees twice per year.

**WHAT WILL I BE DOING?**
- Recording and entering pay adjustments and verifying all bi-weekly pay
- Processing employee payments including annual bonuses, manual cheques, garnishments
- Quarterly and annual payroll reconciliations
- Reconciling EI, CPP and EHT remittances for each payroll and resolving discrepancies
- Completing monthly and annual WSIB remittances
- Preparing T2200's and ROE's
- Completing year-end reporting and requirements including preparation of T4s
- Issuing ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, policies and procedures

**WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?**
- At least 3 years' experience using payroll software systems
- Post-secondary degree/diploma or Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation an asset
- Workday experience an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Knowledge of Ontario Employment Standards and other applicable legislation
- The ability to work on-site for part of the week - Hybrid role
