Automotive Equipment Upfitter

**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Manager/Supervisor, the Automotive Equipment Upfitter is responsible for the stripping, set up and installation of vehicle electronics, accessories equipment for all types year/make/models of Service vehicles.
**General Duties**
**1.** Install and remove lighting and accessory equipment etc. in all types of Service vehicles.
**2.** Repair and refurbish lighting, accessories and harnesses.
**3.** Devise and implement modifications to lighting, ignition and electrical systems on Service vehicles in order to install running light overrides and vehicle continuous run systems.
**4.** Perform basic repairs on vehicle electronic equipment, and assist as required.
**5.** Modify and fabricate parts, brackets etc. as necessary in order to adapt equipment to vehicles.
**6.** Install other related equipment (e.g. separation cages, rear seat liners, truck trays etc.) in all types of Service vehicles.
**7.** Identify to the Manager/Supervisor all equipment and parts needed to ensure adequate levels of supplies (e.g. hardware, wires and cables etc.) and electronic equipment (e.g. breakers, fuses, flashers, modules etc.) are maintained and in stock.
**8.** Complete task oriented work orders.
**9.** Perform other duties, as assigned, which are related to the major responsibilities of the job.
**Physical & Sensory Demands / Dexterity**: Assignments will involve activities such as sitting, standing, walking, climbing, lifting objects greater than 50 pounds, twisting, bending/stooping, reaching, driving, talking, listening, reading and holding objects in awkward positions for extended periods of time.
**Training**: On-the-job training will be provided.
**Required Competencies**
**Education**: Must be a licensed Automotive Electronic Accessory Technician (310K) recognized by the Ontario College of Trades. Must be a member ‘in good standing’ with the College.
**Experience**: Minimum of three (3) years’ of full-time work experience in automotive up fitting (e.g. car stereo/radio, Global Positioning System (GPS), mobile workstation, telematics etc.), as well as experience in installation (e.g. auxiliary lighting, sirens, public address, bulkheads, separation cages, decals etc.).
**Certificates / Licenses / Apprenticeships**: Must possess a valid Class G Driver's Licence, or the equivalent, with no more than six (2) accumulated demerit points, permitting you to drive an automobile in Ontario with full driving privileges.
**1.** Must be physically fit and capable of working in a physically demanding environment (e.g. use ladders, heavy tools, and equipment; lift objects greater than 50 pounds; work in trunk, under dash, and back seat areas of vehicles etc.).
**2.** Must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
**3.** Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**4.** Highly self-motivated and directed.
**5.** Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
**6.** Willing and able to contribute to a safe working environment.
**7.** Ability to utilize a personal computer.
**Salary**: $47,000.00-$57,000.00 per year
