The **North Bay and District Humane Society** has been a key service provider within North Bay
and surrounding communities since 1954. As a registered charity, our mission is to provide for
and protect animals while acting as advocate in educating the community on animal welfare
issues and concerns. The following opportunity is available:
**Veterinary Technician (Full Time)**

Reporting to the **Clinic Manager**, the Veterinary Technician provides support in the **North Bay**
**and District Humane Society Pet Clinic**.

As a Veterinary Technician you will assist in the operation of the North Bay and District Humane
Society Pet Clinic according to developed policies and protocols, contribute to the delivery and
quality of programs and services offered at the clinic, assist the Veterinary team with all aspects of
surgical procedures and treatment, provide care of the animals housed in the surgical facility and
ensure the overall cleanliness of the clinic. Working closely with the Veterinary team, the
Veterinary Technician will also assist in identifying and managing resource requirements within
the annual budget.

As the initial point of contact at the North Bay and District Humane Society Pet Clinic, the
Veterinary Technician provides high quality customer service, including greeting clients,
discussing pre and post-operative issues and concerns, scheduling appointments, accepting
payments and ensuring that owners are happy and comfortable leaving their pets in a safe and
loving environment. As part of the North Bay and District Humane Society team, the Veterinary
Technician also assists in providing care for animals housed at the shelter and working as part of a
team to ensure and clean, safe and humane environment for the animals in care.

customer service skills, computer skills, communication skills (both verbal and written), proven
organizational skills as well as the ability to function in a fast-paced environment. Previous
experience and bilingualism are considered assets.
