Reporting in a matrix reporting relationship to the Chair/Chief Pathology & Laboratory (PaLM) and the Director, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, the Clinical Biochemist is responsible for providing medical and scientific expertise for Core and Special Chemistry labs at London Health Sciences Centre (University Hospital & Victoria Hospital) and St. Joseph’s Healthcare London. This includes medical consultations, selection and best use of instrumentation, control and improvement of quality, methods development, establishing reference ranges, education of staff, and stewardship of resources. There are also teaching responsibilities for undergraduate and graduate medical students at Western University.

Regular Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $ 69.46 per hour - $ 86.86 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Biochemistry
- Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (FCACB), or eligible for fellowship
- Minimum two (2) years of previous related experience
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Clinical Biochemistry
- Demonstrated advanced teaching abilities
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research & knowledge of methods development
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis
- Demonstrated advanced understanding of clinical test utilization
- Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

**Immunization Requirements**:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
