Lower Sackville, Canada Memory Lane Family Place Association Full time

In this role, you will:
**Recruitment**
- Identify and assist in the selection and approval of family home child care providers through home assessments that evaluate suitability for provision of child care according to agency criteria, the Day Care Act and Early Learning and Child Care Regulations.
- Arrange orientation and training sessions, provide information regarding requirements, resources, and back-up provisions.
- Support providers in filling child care spaces in their homes.
- Provide support and guidance to the approved home providers, ensuring overall compliance in regard to the Early Learning and Child Care Regulation and Act of Nova Scotia, as well as the policies and procedures of the Sackville Family Home Child Care Agency.

**Administration**
- Create, maintain and monitor files for each family home child care provider.
- Maintain accurate records and complete visit reports, assist home providers in implementing all requirements in their homes, including completing reports.
- Maintain open lines of communication with the FHCC parents and providers.

**Program Home Visits**
- Conduct the various home visits to support and monitor the care being provided in the family home child care program, with a goal to offer guidance and support.
- Prepare and present workshops, resources and consultation to providers regarding child development and related topics (e.g., behaviour guidance, nutrition, safety, health, etc.). Suggest and monitor programming for stages of development of children.
- Facilitate orientation/introduction meetings between parents and providers

**Qualifications you bring**:

- Early Childhood Educator Degree or Diploma - Level 2 or 3
- Minimum two (2) years experience working with children and families in a licensed child care setting.

**Skills**
- Ability to demonstrates professionalism in working with in-home child care providers, families and outside organizations.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities.
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with family home child care providers, families and outside organizations.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, computer, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers in family home child care, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrated equity into program design.
- Sound judgement and decision making - reliable and dependable.
- Team Player.

**Other requirements**
- Valid First Aid and CPR-C
- Valid RCMP Screening
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Child Abuse Registry
- Valid drivers license and capacity to travel on your own to conduct home visits.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $29.67-$32.61 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
