**Job Title: Plant Operator**

**Location: Olds**

**Employment Type: Full Time**

**Reporting to: Plant Foreman**

**Position Overview**:
The Plant Operator position is available at our Olds facility located approximately 5km south of Olds, AB. Reporting to the Plant Foreman you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment and processes. You will provide direct guidance and support to operations and maintenance staff as well as contractors to consistently meet or exceed expectations in the following areas: production; operating costs; corporate values; environment, health and safety, training; regulatory; and emergency response.

**Key Job Accountabilities**:

- Maintains and promotes professional and positive attitude
- Possess a 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate of Competency
- Strive to maintain the expected standards of housekeeping in all plant areas.
- Working directly with the Plant Administrator on Transloading on LPG Product into Railcars.
- Perform Monthly Track Inspections and work with the Team Lead to address any issues on the rail track in a timely manner.
- Provide Monthly Plant Sampling
- Maintain monthly plant Inventory List.
- Perform plant inspections on a regular basis where they will identify and rectify any operational problems and ensure operating metrics are within established normal operating conditions (NOC) and safe operating limits (SOL).
- They will complete monthly tasks as assigned.
- Identify and create Work Orders as required
- Assisting with day-to-day maintenance activities IE- (Cooler Cleaning, Skid Steer Operation, Offloading Delivery trucks)
- Ensure plant security is enforced at all times.
- Assist with Turnaround activities
- On call as requested
- Promote teamwork development
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot
- Adhere to all operating practices as well as following all applicable ABSA and AER regulations.
- Committed to protecting the environment and safeguarding human health in all of their operational activities. They will follow Whitecap Resources Inc. health, safety, and environmental policies.
- They will handle communication with all outside parties in a discreet and diplomatic manner. All inquiries must be handled expeditiously.

**Primary Qualifications and Skills**:

- Experience in sour gas processing facilities preferred
- Minimum 3rd class Steam Ticket
- 2 - 5 years of related oil and sour gas experience
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to process changes and modifications
- Demonstrated computer literacy and knowledge of automated operations systems
- Excellent communication skill
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Work well with others in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work twelve hour rotating shifts and cover other operators during their absences.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
