Obladee is a small, casual wine bar established in 2010 by siblings Heather & Christian Rankin. We are a welcoming space in the Halifax downtown celebrating memorable food, honest wines, and community. The food at Obladee is carefully considered, beautifully presented, and designed to accompany wine. Plates are generally built to share, incorporating regional, seasonal ingredients sourced from trusted producers. Our style is familiar yet elevated, with a focus on simplicity, drawing inspiration locally and from around the world.

We’re looking for a full-time **Co-Chef** to join our kitchen team

Our kitchen is a small, 2-person operation. This highly visible and integral team of 2 works together to develop and execute the entire food program - from menu creation, to product sourcing, to prep and service.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the kitchen
- Create and prepare high-quality dishes in a timely manner
- Develop and update menu items based on seasonal availability and wine-friendliness
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
- Collaborate with owners and sommelier to plan and execute special events and classes
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Perform recipe costing and adhere to budgetary guidelines

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a sous-chef or chef in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and kitchen management
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
