A minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm accounting department
- Technical bookkeeping knowledge
- Ability to multi-task while adhering to tight deadlines
- Attention to detail; Team player with the ability to take initiative and work independently
- Ability to work past 5pm if required
- Managing Bookkeeping forCommercial and Residential Closings;
- Assisting, coordinating, and confirming with the lawyers and clerks with closings on incoming deposits for Real Estate matters
- Reviewing, posting, and reconciling bank transactions from the previous day
- Working with bank runner to ensure closing transactions are accurate and timely, including cheque preparation and wire transfers
- Same day posting support, checking bank
- Accounts Receivable duties:
- Cash Receipt Deposits
- Billing inquiries & other accounting related inquiries
- Collaborating with lawyers and legal clerks on those accounts internally
- Processing Payment & Retainer credit card transactions and e-transfers
- Accounts Payable duties:
- Invoice and Cheque payment
- Teraview Registration transactions (daily)
- Disbursements (daily)
- Working with the team and assisting with paperwork flow, including scanning and filing
- Liaison with banks on daily issues or matters on transactions
- Assisting with required information in regards to year-end audits
- Provide additional ad-hoc reporting if required
- Other responsibilities assigned from time to time
