Afternoon Steel CNC Laser Assistant Operator

**Job Description - Including but not limited to**:

- Learn to safely handle and load steel sheets onto cutting table using overhead crane
- Unload cut parts from cutting table, identifying them and ensure parts are routed to the correct department for the next operation.
- Ensure parts are defect free and correct by measuring dimensions of finished work pieces.
- Work with heavy gauge steel and large parts.
- Remove Skeletons from the cutting table
- Learn to read shop drawings accurately to produce parts according to specifications
- Perform inspections on finished products to ensure products produced meet quality standards
- Learn to read specifications and follow verbal instructions
- Verify material and jobs are matching product on table
- Learn to use various measuring instruments e.g. Vernier calipers, protractor, measuring tape, micrometer
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Perform daily maintenance to keep clean and ensure machines are working well
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency through continuous improvement initiative
- Follow standard work procedures when operating machinery to ensure optimal performance of the equipment and to ensure only quality product is produced

Skills & Experience required
- 2+ years of experience ideally working with steel.
- Experience with forklift, jib/overhead cranes is required
- Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to multi-task
- Heavy lifting may be required (up to 50lbs), gripping, pinching, twisting
- Physical job, required to be on your feet all day, moving around consistently
- Able to work quickly with mínimal supervision
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Willingness to learn other jobs and potentially advance to other positions
- Take pride in your work
- Enjoy learning new things, work well on your own and contribute to a team environment

What We Offer
Monday to Friday 2:15 pm to 10:15 pm - NON Rotating
Wage based on experience

Looking to start as soon as possible

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
