The Unit Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the operating room, day surgery, endoscopy, and ambulatory clinics of responsibility including direct supervision of staff. This role interacts with team members including physicians, nursing staff, other disciplines, and other departments on a daily basis and provides clinical support to patient care by exception only. The position facilitates and fosters interdisciplinary participation in patient care activities and coaches, mentors, motivates and empowers clinical staff. The Unit Manager creates a climate of interdepartmental respect and collaboration, and adheres and models the Covenant Health mission, vision and values. The responsibilities of this position are focused around four critical aspects of care and service: People and teams. Access and flow. Quality and safety. Efficiency and resources. The Unit Manager plays a key role in safe and timely patient care and patient/client outcomes. To minimize negative outcomes, the Unit Manager must possess considerable clinical knowledge, skill level and leadership abilities relevant to the operating room of responsibility. The Unit Manager must have knowledge related to protocols, standards and techniques for the department and patient/client population. The work impacts the level of patient/resident care by ensuring that clinical practice reflects the most current, evidence-based techniques and standards. This position is non-unionized.

**Required Qualifications**:
Graduate of a recognized Registered Nursing program required. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BScN) recommended. Minimum three (3) years recent nursing experience required in the Operating Room. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience recommended. Charge nurse experience required. Combination of education and experience may be considered.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Current member of ORNAC.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Perioperative Certificate Completed.
