Position Summary: Under the general guidance of the Supervisor - Mental Health Programs and as a member of a multidisciplinary Family Services team, the incumbent will be responsible for researching, developing, delivering and evaluating mental health related, psycho-educational workshops and support sessions for transitional aged youth, their families and the broader community.

Responsibilities and Duties: (but not limited to)
- Provide one-on-one support and facilitate group support sessions.
- In collaboration with the Mental Health and Family Services team, develop workshops and program curriculum to reflect new knowledge in the mental health field and emerging mental health issues/concerns in the community.
- Deliver workshops in a professional and culturally sensitive manner to meet the needs and interests of the target audience.
- Address issues raised clients and workshop participants in a sensitive and confidential manner.
- Conduct assessment and intake, identify high risk clients, complete crisis risk assessments, and make appropriate referrals within the community.
- Provide non-clinical, short-term, supportive counselling and/or case management and emotional support to clients; assist clients to assess their situation, particularly with reference to their safety, provide information and assistance in developing appropriate strategies, provide information and referral to appropriate community and clinical resources.
- Input client information into database, document incidences and maintain up-to-date records of service delivery and client case files.
- Complete all required statistical and narrative reports.
- Develop, administer, collect and disseminate evaluation forms.
- Participate in staff and team meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Perform other duties and assist with other areas within Family Services as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelors of Social Work, Psychology or related Human Services field with experience in the delivery of community supports to youth and families, especially within the mental health services field.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of social work, and group facilitation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with diverse populations through an intersectional, trauma-informed, culturally responsive and anti-oppressive lens.
- Demonstrated skills in workshop facilitation, case management, assessment and intervention, clinical writing, advocacy, conflict resolution techniques, mediation, mental health, anger management and non-violent crisis management.
- Solid interpersonal, administrative, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and research skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential records & documentation, in addition to writing objective and descriptive contact notes.
- Demonstrated verbal & written English communication skills and a South Asian language (Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Tamil etc.) is an asset.
- Organize and prioritize work effectively, with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision and effectively in a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail and flexible to deal with changing demands of the job.
- Computer proficiency in Windows Office Suite and virtual service delivery and database management is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of mental health supports, resources and services within the Region of Peel, including formal and informal resources.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and to work from any one of Indus’ sites.
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation is required.
- It is a condition of employment that employees provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the start date of employment.
