**General Description of Area of Responsibility**:
As a member of LCR staff, all decisions and manner of relating and operating will reflect the mission, vision and value of LCR in keeping with a Wellness Model.

Under the direction of the Housekeeping & Laundry Coordinator, the Housekeeping Worker is responsible for carrying out general cleaning duties. The Worker shall clean a particular space on a regular basis and keep it neat and pleasant. Besides, the Worker shall also replenish supplies, clean and store housekeeping equipment.

**Specific Responsibilities**
**Cleaning**
1. Perform general cleaning duties such as vacuuming, dusting, washing floors, cleaning walls, windows, telephones, picture frames, doors, door and window trim, and light fixtures.
2. Empty wastebaskets and dispose of garbage.
3. Clean washrooms, tub and shower rooms, furniture and patios.
4. Clean up accidents from sisters, residents, visitors or staff as required.
5. Participate in the “deep cleaning” process.
6. Replace various consumable items in the public area.

**Maintenance**
1. Keep noise to a minimum throughout the building.
2. Request supplies as required from the Coordinator.
3. Keep housekeeping clean and in working order. Request for repairs as needed.
4. Observe strictly all safety and security policies or practices that impact the welfare of residents and report any risks to the Coordinator in a timely manner.
5. Maintain current knowledge of fire and other safety procedures.

**Others**
1. Comply with health and safety policies and procedures including compliance with WHMIS and other regulatory requirements.
2. Provide assistance and courtesy as needed to the guest and staff requests.
3. Attend departmental and staff meetings as required.
4. Perform all other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
1. Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
2. Excellent knowledge of cleaning appliances, and cleaning and disinfecting processes.
3. Excellent verbal communication skill.
4. Good time management skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
6. Able to work in a minimum supervision.
7. Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
