**Youth Outreach Coordinator**

Ifarada: Centre for Excellence is an organization focused on promoting healthy families, embracing equity, celebrating diversity, and cultivating resilience. The organization is a member of the Family Services Agencies of Ontario and is designed to support the community with a strong emphasis on equity, holistic care, and empowerment. The services include therapeutic groups, educational programs, counselling support and leadership programs. Ifarada has led the development of programs that have received funding and support to deliver specific programs.

**Program Position**:
The youth outreach coordinator will focus on developing an engagement with the community and youth. The coordinator will connect with schools, churches, and other centers where youth populate to recruit girls to join the program. They will develop monthly workshops to build youth mentoring skills, and support youth to facilitate workshops for youth. The coordinator will plan and organize youth events and activities. The coordinator will provide direct support and informal counselling to youth and their families, and support youth to enhance their overall outcomes.

Position Requirements:
The coordinator would work with professionals to develop partnerships and arrange in-house youth-led workshops. They will recruit young women and professionals to join Wonderfully Made and support their development and connection as a team. The coordinator will work with a multi-disciplinary team to address challenges that exist with youth and develop support address gaps and barriers in services.

The position is hybrid and consists of in-person and online activities.

**Key Achievements**:

- A knowledge of youth and challenges Black, Indigenous and Women of Colour experience.
- Grounded understanding in how race, identity, and gender impact Black, Indigenous and Women of Colour.
- Post-secondary college or degree program related to social services.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork capacities, and ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Dynamic and engaging personality that has skills in facilitating youth programs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Recruit 40-60 mentors between ages 16 to 29 years old from a diverse background and experience
- Develop relationships with professionals to provide mentorship to youth, to run workshops with youth
- Organize calendar and events, plan cultural and community events
- Plan a 3 day overnight for mentors
- Plan a yearly closing event for youth
- Provide guidance, support and input in mentor and mentee relationships, to youth and their families, and youth within the community.
- Hold monthly workshops with mentors and support mentors to complete online learning modules, and/or support youth to attend monthly life skills workshops and classes.
- Work in collaboration with a diverse, multidisciplinary team.

**Salary**: $21-31/per hour, full-time
