Reporting to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, the Shipper Receiver will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of incoming and outgoing shipments in a steel manufacturing and metal building industry. This role involves managing inventory, inspecting goods, preparing shipments, and ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products to their intended destinations. The Shipper Receiver plays a crucial role in CMB’s supply chain by ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**Receiving and Inspection**:

- Receive incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect received goods for damage, quality, and quantity discrepancies, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Record and document receiving information in an organized manner.

**Inventory Management**:

- Maintain an organized and efficient storage system for received goods, ensuring proper labeling and stock rotation.
- Update inventory records regularly, tracking stock levels and reporting shortages or excesses.
- Assist in conducting periodic physical inventory counts and reconciling variances.

**Packaging and Labeling**:

- Properly package items for outgoing shipments, ensuring they are adequately protected and labeled according to shipping requirements.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and methods to minimize shipping costs and protect products during transit.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation, such as bills of lading and packing slips.

- Coordinate the scheduling of outbound shipments to meet delivery deadlines.
- Arrange transportation carriers and select the most cost-effective and reliable options.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, or other transportation vehicles safely and efficiently.

**Documentation and Recordkeeping**:

- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving logs, including records of damaged goods, returns, and discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit shipping and receiving reports to management as required.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping and receiving regulations, including hazardous materials handling if applicable.

**Communication and Collaboration**:

- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve any shipment-related issues or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to ensure smooth operations.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when handling and storing materials, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as other regulations governing shipping and receiving activities.

**Qualifications and Experience**

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Forklift experience required.

3. Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and/or Google G Suite.

4. Previous experience in shipping/receiving in an industrial environment is preferred.

5. Knowledge within cross-border logistics and documentation.

6. Proficiency in using shipping software and inventory management systems (ERP).

7. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

8. Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects.

9. Effective communication and teamwork skills.

10. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for handling materials and equipment.

11. Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and fast-paced environments.

12. Class G license with clean driving record; AZ licence an asset

This is a full time, permanent role located in Stoney Creek, Ontario.

**Salary/Benefits**

From $23.00+ based on experience.
