The role of Commercial Custodian is an important role in our team in overseeing the care and upkeep of the facilities, grounds, equipment, and furnishings as well as providing a high level of customer service to tenants. Our custodial team is expanding and this position will work out of 4909 - 50 Street as a base location but will also perform services at several other East Lincoln properties. There is mínimal travel within the City, therefore personal, reliable transportation and a valid driver's license is required.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Custodial Work_

The following tasks may be required on an as needed basis.
- Keeps the building and property in clean and orderly condition
- Cleaning floors and walk-off mats
- Vacuuming and shampooing carpeting and mats
- Cleaning windows and glass
- Disposing of trash and recycling
- Cleaning and disinfecting washrooms and kitchens
- Disinfecting surfaces, including doors and high touch points
- Keeping an inventory of cleaning supplies and requesting replenishment as needed
- Using heavy-duty cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and commercial vacuums
- Ensures that equipment is properly stored and secured at the end of the day
- Preventative pest control
- Building Inspections_
- Perform basic maintenance checks (fire extinguishers, etc.)
- Works with other maintenance crew and construction specialists as needed
- Notifies manager regarding the need for repairs to buildings and operating systems
- Pickup and delivery of supplies between properties as needed
- Exterior Maintenance_
- Assist in snow shoveling, and ensuring safe walkways
- Weeding, planter maintenance and sprinkler management
- Responsible for keeping the grounds and parking lots free of litter
- Performs regular perimeter checks of buildings and advises of any concerns
- Customer Service_
- Warmly welcome and answer questions from tenants and guests if approached
- Records any tenant or visitor complaint and forwards to the office team for investigation
- Demonstrates a commitment to high standards and teamwork
- Fosters a positive attitude and interacts with a pleasant demeanor

Any other duties as required.

**Requirements/Qualifications**
- Physically capable of lifting, kneeling and in good health
- Ability to work on ladders at varying heights
- Ability to use custodial equipment to perform physically demanding tasks
- Capability of walking extensively and physical endurance for daily cleaning
- Minimum of three year’s previous experience in a commercial setting.
- Exhibits good judgment, self-confidence, cool headedness, and common sense
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently, manage their workload and shift priorities as necessary
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, personal transportation
- Organizational skills to keep track of various responsibilities

**Performance Criteria**
- Positive relationships with the East Lincoln Properties team, tenants, guests and contractors
- Completion of duties in a safe and satisfactory manner according to best practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks, follow procedures and work with mínimal supervision
- Effective problem solving and attention to detail
- Knowledge of different cleaning supplies and tools
- Reliable and responsible work ethics
- Regular and effective communication with supervisor and team members

**Experience Criteria**
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning tasks, cleaning supplies and equipment. Minimum of one year custodial experience in a commercial setting.

**Hours of Work**
This position works Monday to Friday from 2:00pm - 10:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. There may be instances where your schedule is flexed to meet operational demands. The Commercial Custodian must live within 20 minutes of Red Deer, Alberta.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
